Thirty-five years ago…

my wife Mareta and I chose to raise our family in Long Beach. We still love its unique character. I’m the Executive Director of a non-profit housing organization. As your City Councilmember, I’ll be dedicated to creating affordable housing and improving your family’s quality of life. I support community-based policing and expanding programs that keep our children out of gangs and off drugs.  I’ll clean up Long Beach politics and increase jobs and opportunities for our residents.

 My Priorities:

  • Solving our Affordable Housing and Homelessness Crises

  • Expanding City Programs for Children, Teens and Seniors

  • Training Youth for Employment

  • Protecting Clean Air and Water

  • Addressing Climate Change

  • Promoting Small Business Opportunities

As a consensus builder my leadership style requires public participation, people power!  My 25-year Church pastor experience includes:

  • Advocating for the Poor and Homeless

  • Creating Leadership Programs for Youth

  • Teaching Financial Literacy

  • Providing Sanctuary, Food and Shelter

 Education Degrees:

  • Bachelor’s – Civil Engineering (University of Hawaii)

  • Master’s – Business Administration (CSU Long Beach)

  • Master’s/Doctor’s – Theology (Claremont)

I have the independence to make sure your voice matters. By Working With You, we can make Long Beach better. I respectfully ask for your vote November 5, 2019.
